MinecraftEdu is a separate mod for the game created by TeacherGaming LLC and can be purchased through their website here. Although many of the lessons and activities described on this site were built using the mod, it is not a requirement to purchase the mod to use Minecraft in the classroom. However, MinecraftEdu has worked out a special licensing agreement with Mojang (the creators of Minecraft) to sell the game to schools at a discounted price.

We do not receive any financial support from either company, nor do we benefit from promotion of their websites. We are simply a pair of elementary teachers looking to spread the use of technology in the classroom.
