It's a big world out there (literally!), especially when you are first getting started with Minecraft implementation. Here are some helpful tips for beginning Minecraft Learners looking to get a start in the game.
Note: All of these tips are valid under the assumption that the MinecraftEdu mod is installed. It should have been installed by your teacher. You will know that it is installed because the opening title menu will say 'MinecraftEdu' at the top.
- Remove enemies and non-playable characters (NPCs) from the game. This will eliminate a large distraction at the start, allowing you to focus on building and gathering.
- Take some time for mess around. Using free play, you will be able to test out the controls of the game as well as mechanics of building.
- Start off solo, then join up with classmates. Learning the game by yourself first will help you a lot when it comes to trying out the advanced activities later on.
- Start small, then big. Practice building and removing small structures first, and bigger and more complex ones later on. Starting small will help you understand the mechanics of game easier and faster.
- Pre-determine a set number of blocks (Beginner). When you are first starting out with the game, it might be a good idea to start with a set number of blocks to work with. This will eliminate the need to gather materials and lets you start building right away.
- Try it with unlimited blocks (Advanced). As your you become more accustomed to the game's mechanics, you might want to try building more complex structures. These structures may require a large amount of building blocks, which could take a lot of time to acquire from gathering. Starting yourself with unlimited blocks will eliminate the need to gather materials, and you won't have to worry about running out of blocks!
